there have to be at least three things to make a sandwich interesting. i think this is true about most things. just ham and cheese is edible, but not delicious. can’t be. cheese and onions, ok. but not sturdy enough. 

last night i had the pleasure of trying out two gems in cincinnati. one: arnolds, the oldest bar in cincinnati. pretty basic. good drinks, good prices, good people. just two of these things would’ve been acceptable, but not delectable. and.: voted cincinnati’s best sandwich: a steamed cheeseburger at at Galpin’s. Unbelievable. Drinks, a wait, and delicious burger at the end. The burger had the bare minimum of things to make it incredible and it could be overdone, but it wasn’t. Cheese, bacon, burger. 

so three is the magic number. not a new thought, but a new way of thinking it.
